Entrepreneur unveils revolutionary oxygen water technology at European health summit

Singapore-based innovator claims oxygen deficiency is behind many chronic diseases

At the HOLOLIFE Summit 2025 Europe in Tallinn, Estonia, entrepreneur Wilson Tan presented what he calls "the world's first oxygen supplementation system" to address what he describes as a silent health crisis affecting urban populations worldwide.

Speaking to an audience of health enthusiasts and biohackers on Friday, Tan, the founder and CEO of OxyTap, explained how urban water supplies typically contain depleted oxygen levels – a condition he believes contributes to numerous chronic health conditions.

"Sixty percent of the world's chronic diseases have roots in low oxygen," Tan told attendees at the three-day summit. "Increasing oxygen naturally can help cure them."

From defence to health innovation

Tan shared a personal journey that led him from the defence industry to health innovation, sparked by his mother's diagnosis with acute myeloid leukaemia. This experience, combined with his background in marine life support systems and water treatment, informed his understanding of oxygen's critical role in biological systems.

"Deprive a cell of thirty-five percent of its oxygen for forty-eight hours and it will become cancerous," Tan said, referencing the work of Nobel Prize winner Otto Warburg.

According to Tan, Singapore's recent designation as one of six global "blue zones" – areas where people live significantly longer than average – has partly resulted from the country's innovative approach to technology and health, including water treatment.

Technology without cartridges or refills

The OxyTap system, demonstrated during the presentation, creates water with dissolved oxygen levels of 25-45 parts per million (ppm) – significantly higher than typical bottled or tap water, which Tan claims often contains less than 7 ppm.

Unlike traditional filters or dispensers, the system uses platinum and titanium alloy technology to separate hydrogen and oxygen from water molecules, returning nano-sized oxygen particles that Tan claims are more easily absorbed by cells.

"It needs zero refills, is sustainable, and does not use cartridges. It makes its own oxygen from water itself," Tan explained.

Anecdotal health benefits

Throughout his talk, Tan shared several case studies of individuals who reportedly experienced health improvements after using the oxygenated water, including a woman who regained mobility after three years of disability following Covid-19, and a 90-year-old man who reduced his blood pressure medication.

"After three years of disability, oxygen supplementation helped a lady regain the use of her leg in just fifteen minutes," he claimed.

Tan also suggested benefits for those without chronic conditions, including improved concentration and energy levels.

"Oxygen increases neuroplasticity and concentration, helping students and those with ADHD focus better during exams," he said.

Scientific caution

While the presentation was enthusiastically received by the biohacking community present at the summit, it's worth noting that comprehensive clinical trials validating these specific claims were not presented during the talk.

The field of dissolved oxygen therapy remains an area where scientific consensus is still developing, with researchers continuing to investigate potential benefits and mechanisms of action.

Future of health optimisation

Tan positioned the technology not as a cure-all but as a foundation for other health interventions. "Oxygen is the basis; without oxygen supplementation, your body won't absorb nutrients or medicines well," he said.

The HOLOLIFE Summit, running until Sunday in Estonia's capital, features numerous presentations on emerging health technologies and practices aimed at optimising human performance and longevity.

For Tan, who invited attendees to visit his exhibition booth for demonstrations, the mission extends beyond business. "Let's start the oxygen revolution," he concluded. "Liberate your body with oxygen. Let's create change together."

Frequently asked questions

What does the OxyTap system claim to do?

Wilson Tan, founder and chief executive of OxyTap, presented it in Tallinn as an oxygen supplementation system that raises dissolved oxygen in water to 25-45 parts per million, against the under 7 ppm he says is typical of tap or bottled water, using a platinum and titanium alloy rather than cartridges.

Why does Tan link oxygen to chronic disease?

He drew on a background in marine life support systems and water treatment, and on his mother's acute myeloid leukaemia diagnosis, to argue that urban water supplies are oxygen depleted. His stated claim was that depriving a cell of thirty-five percent of its oxygen for forty-eight hours turns it cancerous.

How strong is the evidence behind the claims?

The presentation rested on anecdotes rather than trials, including a woman said to regain the use of her leg after three years of disability and a 90-year-old man who reduced his blood pressure medication. Comprehensive clinical trials validating these specific claims were not presented.
