Hikaru Kobayashi, born in Kyoto, Japan, in 1956, is Professor Emeritus of Osaka University and a visiting professor. He earned his Bachelor of Science at Osaka University in 1984 and his Ph.D. from Kyoto University in 1989. His research focuses on Si-based agents for applications in medicine, health, and well-being. He has published over 250 peer-reviewed papers and served over 10 years as an editor for Applied Surface Science.
